Education Partnerships to Reduce Tuition Costs
Tulane SoPA is proud to partner with New Schools for New Orleans (NSNO), Xavier University, TNTP, and Reach University in the U.S. Department of Education's Supporting Effective Educator Development (SEED) Grant Partnership. Within our program partnership, students who commit to teaching in Orleans Parish are eligible to receive tuition waivers. In addition, they receive stipends to participate in our induction program that provides additional coaching and support during their residency year and subsequent two years as a certified classroom teacher.
Non-certified teachers are also eligible to take part in our partnership with Jefferson Parish Schools. In our Jefferson Parish Schools Tuition Reimbursement Program, Jefferson Parish Schools will pay up to $1,500 for 3 credit hours and up to $3,000 for 6 credit hours to help offset the cost of tuition and selected fees.
Tulane SoPA is dedicated to reducing the financial burden of tuition costs to aspiring teachers. Through a grant from The U.S. Department of Education’s (USDOE) Supporting Effective Educator Development (SEED) Grant Program, students in the MAT program may qualify for a full tuition waiver. This grant also offers Tulane SoPA undergraduate students who enroll in Education Coordinate Majors to have tuition waived for their undergraduate education courses. We also offer a variety of discounts and tuition waivers available to aspiring and current educators and paraprofessionals.
